The must-haves

These emblematic places are the very source of Chamonix's development.

And can be reached by cable car, gondola or train... you don't have to be a mountain climber to go up so high! Beware of mountain sickness for young children.

The Aiguille du Midi (3842 m)

from the Aiguille du Midi cable car (the highest in Europe), reach the four panoramic terraces for a 360° view of the French, Swiss and Italian summits. From there, visit the "Vertical Lab" and don't miss the brand new "Pas dans le vide"!

The White Valley (3842 m)

The longest ski descent in the world on unmarked, ungroomed and unsecured terrain. 24 kilometers on glacier from the Aiguille du Midi to Chamonix. 4 to 6 hours (2,800 meters of ascent).

For those who are less athletic, take the Vallée Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi cable car to the Helbronner point and then to Courmayeur (Italy), with a breathtaking view.

The Sea of Ice

Access from the Montenvers train station: a quick ascent by rack and pinion train.

The Mont Blanc Tramway
